    Implementation of the Warsaw NATO summit commitments was discussed by Poland’s Ministry of National Defense representative Mr. Ziemowit Waligóra during a conference that took place at the University of Montreal on November 18, 2016.

    The conference was organized by the Centre for International Peace and Security Studies and Canada’s Department of National Defense with the support of the Embassy of Poland in Ottawa and gathered experts from Great Britain, Estonia, Canada and Poland including the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation NATO gen. Denis Mercier.

     

    - Solidarity and cooperation of NATO member countries is very important, especially when Russia is trying to weaken Alliance’s unity – said Mr. Waligóra during the conference. He also talked abot the importance of the implementation of the Warsaw summit’s commoitments, including reaching the operational readiness of units strengthening NATO’s eastern flank in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

     

    Several dozen of academics, students, experts and army representatives took part in the conference.
